I’ve noticed the trend where nowadays most of the website are displaying their own Alexa ranking on their blog or website. Even i have it displayed on my sidebar. Oh wait, i just removed it!
There are some reasons why i decided to remove my Alexa ranking image from my blog site. The small reason is because to display the ranking image it takes very slow time and big reason is that i found out that Alexa ranking isn’t actually accurate. Alexa which is supposed to rank you within the top websites in the world actually works in a different way rather than based on the hits you really obtain. The ranking is fully based on the hits you get from users who have Alexa Toolbar (or compatible software and cookies) set on their machine and some even say that the toolbar is a spyware.
